Happy 1/2 anniversary!

It hardly seems five minuets ago that I was stood in my parents guest bedroom in my wedding dress with my Maid of Honour saying “I can’t believe I am about to be married…”.

Well six months on, I’m now saying “I can’t believe we have been married this long…its wonderful!”

We aren’t really ones to celebrate things.  In fact when we were simply ‘dating’ people used to ask us, how long we had been together and when our ‘anniversary’ was. And in truth neither of us really ever know.  We know that we got together some time around August 2003, but the exact date – who knows!  So it really is rather special to know exactly when we got married.

May sound odd to you, but it is a pretty big thing for us.
We’ve have had a lot of weekends away so far this year.  But they have all been for reasons, going home to see our parents, going to (many many) weddings (we must be at that age).  But we have never just gone some where for us, because was wanted to.
On Saturday we packed up the car with overnight bag and picnic and headed off into Sussex for the weekend. We went to Sarah Raven‘s Open Day at her Perch Hill Farm.  Took many many photographs!

Had the most wonderful picnic, using our picnic hamper which we received as a wedding gift.
And stayed in a lovely town house hotel in Lewes.
Ian bought me a tiny posy of Roses (he had tried to get me a bouquet from the people who did  our wedding flowers, but he left it a little late… he was so embarrassed, it was so sweet!)

Ate a Divine meal at the Real Eating Company.

Looked at  the lovely view from our room window.

Climbed to the top of the Castle on Sunday.

And finally came home to sit in our sunny sunny garden eating Cheese scones and drinking beer.
A perfect weekend.

Happy half year anniversary. Thank you so much for the photographs of Sarah's garden. It looks splendid, as does the rest of your weekend.

    Thank you!

Sarah's garden was just wonderful. It seemed both huge and very tiny at the same time. Very cleverly laid out I think.
